Regular Creel
- Using regular creel having some limitation
- Due to Stretching count variation occurring
- Limit of using larger size supply package and high rate delivery speed.
- More Creeling time require
- maintenance cost
- Due to poor light and space it's create difficulty during change over of roving bobbin and also during maintenance.
Open Creel (Overhead OR Umbrella Creel)
It’s a simple in construction and design. And give trouble rotation of roving bobbin. Due to trouble free rotation of roving bobbin in this creel problem of stretching of roving during unwinding it’s very little or in other it’s negligible so no any count variation and get fault free yarn.
Figure show illustrated diagram of open creel in ring frame machine. Actual feature of holding device for the roving tube in their bottom section. There is one ring provided which responsible for retainer movement (swing in and swing out). Retainer are like bird wing. Which goes inside and outside of the tube.
Advantage of Open Creel
- occupies less space in terms of dimension and enough lighting and ease to maintains or cleaning.
- Very large roving bobbin are used without any stretching
- longer life
- Less number of parts involve in the structure so reduction in storage cost. Light weight material is used.
Loading and unloading of creel
Open creel user bobbin overhead suspension pivot instead of bobbin holder skewer; so after referred as overhead creel. They are bolted to server support rail (triangular channel) arranged one behind the along the entire length of the machine which show in figure. There is none pivot for each spindle. Hence quite smaller in size and suspended overhead on to support rail offer much higher free, open space there but put under the name of open creel. open space provided enough room for the creeling and air circulation in the cleaning.
The suspension pivot is composed of hallow aluminium cylindrical housing. Two aluminium bobbin having bird, wing shape are provided, they are capable of springing in and out just like birds wind so often referred as sprang arm in many place. They are resting on the limiting pin. Inside the hollow tube under their own weight in the absence of external force when the spring arms swing out. Increase resulting diameter “D” of the holder that the inner Diameter of the roving tube this hold the roving bobbin in position if bobbin along with driver is pushed up the top end of the spring arms resting on the ring moves right up with them. Their bottom end are inserted in the pivot housing restricted by the cylinder dimension. So, in order to follow upward push, retainer for the bobbin swing in the retraction of arm reduce its resultant diameter (d). Smaller than bobbin tube diameter. This helps in mounting of full bobbin or withdrawn of empty bobbin tube from the holder.
Fiber washer is provided to minimized friction
between base of arm and housing during their spring in out moving. The pivot
cylindrical housing is mounted on ball bearing provided frictional free
rotation to it and there by the roving bobbin, suspended on it. This can help
in minimizing roving stretch tension finger is a steel wire loop integrated in
the bearing unit on suspension pivot and set closer to full bobbin it acts as a
light beak loop. Occasionally presses gently against the bobbin. This prevents
over rotation of the bobbin by not allowing it to rotate too fast. This acts
like a break for the roving bobbin. So, often said as break loop.
