Introduction of Weaving

INTRODUCTION
Producing a fabric by interlacement process of warp and weft thread that is called weaving. In this process using machine that is known as weaving machine or loom.

Basic Mechanisms in weaving machine or loom
In order to interlace warp and weft thread to produce a fabric, the following mechanisms are necessary on any type of loom.
  • Primary mechanisms
  • Secondary mechanisms
  • Auxiliary Mechanisms

Primary mechanisms
These are very important and fundamental mechanisms without these mechanisms, practically impossible to produce a fabric. Due to these reason that is called “Primary Mechanism”. In primary mechanisms are three mechanism.
  • Shedding Mechanism
  • Picking Mechanism
  • Beat-up Mechanism

Shedding Mechanism
In shedding mechanism separates the warp thread into two layer. And create tunnel for shuttle. And that tunnel know as a shed.

Picking Mechanism

In picking mechanism insert the weft in shed by means of shuttle, projectile, rapier, needle, air, water. These all are type is depend upon type of loom.

Beat-up mechanism
In beat-up mechanism push the last inserted weft thread to the already woven fabric at a point know as fell of the cloth.

Secondary Mechanisms
These mechanisms are next in important to the primary mechanisms. If weaving is to be continuous these mechanisms are require. So that is called “secondary mechanisms.” These are,
  • Let-off Mechanism
  • Take-up Mechanism

Take-up Mechanism

In take-up mechanism wound the cloth after the weaving at a constant rate so as to give the require pick spacing or pick/inch or pick/cm. and then wind on cloth roller.

Let-off Mechanism
In let-off motion delivery the warp yarn from weaver beam to weaving area at require rate and at constant tension.

Auxiliary Mechanism
  • Warp Protector Mechanism
  • Weft Stop Motion
  • Temple
  • Brake
  • Warp Stop Motion
